FEEDBACK

Feedback Friday and Thank you to Pat’s Mission Stitchin’ Angels!

We are so grateful to Pat and her incredible Mission Stitchin’ angels for generously making these beautiful gowns for our patients in our hospitals.

These gowns are especially important for patients who have been in hospital for long periods and can’t wear regular pyjamas due to access lines, tracheotomies, or wounds that require easy access. The special design helps to conceal lines and tubes, allowing patients to leave the ward and blend in with the general public — even enjoying something as simple as a quick coffee in the foyer or on the balcony. ‘They are also wonderful for our younger, taller patients who have a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) — the gowns fit much better over the drains used to remove air, and the cheerful patterns are a welcome change from our plain hospital ones, helping these young patients feel more comfortable’.

For long-term ICU patients, the ability to choose their own gown gives them a sense of identity, lifts their self-esteem, and brings comfort to their day. ‘It’s surprisingly empowering to have the simple choice of deciding what to wear, and it makes a world of difference’.

Thank you, Pat and your team, for helping us give our patients dignity, comfort, and a little extra joy during their hospital stay. All gowns are made using fabric donated to GOG, so if you or anyone you know has appropriate fabric to donate – please reach out to admin@goodomengoodeze.org.au – we would love to hear from you.💙
