Stretch’s Big Day![]()
“Hello there, my name is Stretch, a soft giraffe stitched together with love, colour, and kindness. Let me tell you my adoption story.
At the Walk-in-Centre I met a brave six-year-old who came in for a wound closure after a tumble at the playground. Her knees were scraped, and her eyes were wide — not just from the pain, but from worry about what was going to happen next.
As she sat on the treatment bed, a nurse handed me to her. From that moment, she focused less on her knee and more on giving me a name and telling me about her favourite animal – a Giraffe!![]()
While the nurse cleaned and bandaged her wound, I stayed tucked in her arms. I felt her heartbeat slow, her breathing steady, and soon there were even giggles between the little winces. When it was all done, the nurse said I could go home with her— and oh, how her face lit up! She called me Stretch!
Thank you, Good Omen Goodeze volunteers, for giving me life, softness, and a purpose. Your hands make more than toys — they make courage, comfort, and calm in moments that can feel scary”.
With the warmest neck nuzzles,
Stretch the Giraffe ![]()
