Every meetup welcomes familiar faces alongside new members who are discovering just how much joy can come from a ball of yarn, a needle, and good company.
Our talented mentors have been hard at work sharing their hand-stitching skills, patiently teaching everything from the basics through to beautiful finishing techniques. It’s been so rewarding to see members growing in confidence, learning new skills, and creating the sweetest little comfort and sensory toys. These tiny treasures bring so much comfort to people of all ages, and thanks to this amazing group we’re able to keep our local Walk-in Centres, pathology units and Ambulance Service well stocked.
While public holidays sometimes mean we can’t meet at the school, that certainly doesn’t stop the fun! We make the most of the break by catching up at the Southern Cross Club instead, where there’s always plenty of laughter, a delicious piece of cake, a cuppa, and of course a little stitching.
A huge thank you to everyone who makes our Evatt group such a welcoming and supportive place—our wonderful mentors, our dedicated volunteers, and every member who comes along ready to learn, create, and brighten someone else’s day. You are all making a real difference, one tiny stitch at a time.
