We are sending big thank you’s to Hands Across Canberra who organises the Canberra Giving Day each year and provides a matching $2,500 donation to organisations raising that amount in donations. While not technically a GOG sponsor, Hands Across Canberra plays a critical role to support charities and not-for-profit organisations like GOG by offering a number of opportunities like Canberra Giving Day and grant opportunities each year. They also make connections with the business and other organisations through events and contacts. GOG and the Canberra community are very lucky to have such an organisation.
Hands Across Canberra supports over 350 local charities and community organisations. Not all charities enjoy the same level of community support and awareness. Smaller organisations like GOG can struggle for the support and resources they need to carry out their important work. Hands Across Canberra helps by making sure everyone has access to funds, capacity building and support as they work on the front lines to make our community a better place. Working with the Canberra Foundations Collective, Hands Across Canberra grants more than $1.5 million each year to local projects and people. Hands Across Canberra also administers the Chief Ministers Charitable Fund and invests funds on behalf of generous locals.
