Working Bee – 14th March

On a bleak day, it was wonderful to have a fabulous roll up for our first combined GOG Community Threads Project and Working Bee at The Marie Raey Teaching Centre (Room 2.02) at the ANU.

There were so many willing mentors and so many willing learners, as busy hands set to work crocheting and knitting at tables spread around this great new space for us to meet and work in.

It was very special to have Richard and Tess, watched on by Kath, from the Canberra Hospital, speak to us of the power of the GOG goodies in the healing process for patients and their families.

Of course, no GOG Working Bee would be complete without a table loaded with amazing donated creations, and today was no different with TWO table loads of donations. We were even able to set up a wrapping station with so much space on offer to make sure all the goodies were ready for donation to the hospital!

On the donations front Mary put out a reminder for Easter themed goodies to be ready for the 27th of March. So ‘hop to it’ if you’ve got some Easter themed donations in mind.

Thanks for another inspiring get together. Looking forward to seeing what everyone, from our newest ‘learners’ on their first squares to our most experienced makers, will have ready for the next get together!
